For the JURA E8 ED article 15749, use CLARIS Smart+ for water filtration, 3-phase cleaning tablets for the coffee-cleaning programme, and mini tabs for the milk-cleaning programme. Descaling uses a fourth product: 2-phase descaling tablets.
The references below cover the documented European E8 ED 15749. Older E8 machines and US versions need their own model and market check.
Match the maintenance job to the reference
The packaging reference identifies both the product and its retail contents. The six coffee-cleaning tablets and the nine descaling tablets are different chemicals; “tablet” alone is not a useful shopping description.
| Task | Reference and contents | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Replace water filter | 24232: one CLARIS Smart+; 24233: three filters | Respond to the filter indication and follow the filter-change sequence. |
| Remove coffee oils | 24225: six 3-phase cleaning tablets | Use the coffee-cleaning programme. |
| Clean the milk system | 24211: 180 g original mini-tab dosing bottle, labelled for 60 procedures | Use Milk system cleaning and its supplied container. |
| Descale | 61848: 3 x 3 two-phase descaling tablets | Use the separate descaling programme when required. |
| Replace a worn seal or other part | No wear-part reference established here | Identify the failing component with JURA support; a care chemical does not replace it. |
Keep milk cleaning separate from the automatic rinse
Clean the milk system daily on days when milk has been prepared. The automatic milk rinse is a separate action. Reference 24211 includes the dispensing system; a refill bottle is a different purchase. Follow the display and the bottle’s dosing instructions.
Use the prompt for the correct programme
The E8 has separate Filter, Cleaning, Descaling and Milk system cleaning indications. With CLARIS Smart+ active, the manual says the machine does not give the normal descaling prompt. Do not impose a generic monthly descaling schedule.
Keep the manufacturer manual open for the full programme and rinse sequence. The product references below resolve the chemical and pack; they do not establish live merchant stock.
