Privacy

We use first-party aggregate measurements to improve this site. We do not use analytics cookies, browser storage, fingerprinting, or visitor and session identifiers.

What we measure

We count page displays, searches submitted or followed by a result selection, clicks on search results, links between pages, menu and filter actions, and outbound product links. Typing alone is not counted as a search. We count a compatibility answer or affiliate button when at least half of it is visible, once per answer or button destination and position during that page's lifetime. Product links, reference searches and button positions are reported separately. We estimate active time in five-second units while the page is visible and focused, stopping after sixty seconds without interaction.

Data minimisation

Only search terms already present in our product catalogue may be counted by name. Other text is grouped as “other”; we do not transmit it to analytics. Search categories are limited to known models, parts, brands or other; result counts use broad groups. Search loading errors use fixed technical categories, never the text you entered. Page URLs exclude query strings and fragments. Traffic sources are limited to broad categories such as Google, Bing, internal and other; full referring URLs and campaign parameters are not collected.

Measurement logs omit IP addresses, request headers, network fingerprints and exact times. Dates have day-level precision. Normal page and asset requests are excluded. Separate operational and security logs may temporarily process network information for security and service delivery.

Aggregate reports

Reports contain totals and trends, with no individual event exports or visitor timelines. Detailed groups require at least ten events, and their counts are rounded to the nearest ten. Ratios describe events, not visitor conversion; detailed ratios use rounded counts. These counts do not represent unique visitors. Clicks between two pages do not reconstruct a person's journey.

Retention and your choice

Measurement logs use a thirty-day rolling retention target. Private aggregate reports, including report logs, are retained for up to ninety days. We respect your browser's Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals: when either is enabled, this measurement script sends nothing. Adding ?analytics=off to a page address also disables every measurement and follows links within this site, without saving a preference. We do not track people across websites.
