Breville separates coffee-path cleaning from descaling.

Cleaning removes coffee residue; descaling addresses mineral deposits. Use the procedure for your machine and the product named by that procedure before deciding that a pump, heater or valve needs replacement.

Care after milk texturing

Breville advises wiping the steam wand with a clean damp cloth and purging it according to the machine instructions after texturing milk. Keep hands away from hot surfaces and the discharge. Different machines have different wand and cleaning-tool arrangements.

A cleaning tool, a replacement steam tip and a complete nozzle assembly are separate catalogue items. Inspect the part name and reference before buying a complete assembly to solve a blocked removable opening.

A cleaning disc is an accessory

The disc used for a permitted cleaning cycle is distinct from the chemical and from the normal brewing basket. Match each item to the manual rather than putting a tablet into an improvised location.

Follow the maintenance prompt or the manual’s interval. A fixed schedule copied from another model cannot establish that a particular cycle is due on yours.

Before changing grinder parts

For built-in grinders, Breville recommends cleaning the burrs and outlet as directed in the machine instructions. If the problem remains, record the machine code and any PDC restriction before selecting a burr assembly. A named replacement reference confirms an item’s identity; it is not a diagnosis of why the grind changed.
