Breville and Sage water filters: types and batch codes

Breville and Sage water filters are not one universal cartridge. Match the country, complete machine code and any batch limit on the manufacturer’s filter listing. The same family name can lead to different filter instructions in the US and UK.

Start with the cartridge already in the tank. A filter holder is a separate part, and neither a holder nor a coffee basket identifies the replacement water cartridge.

US Breville: resin filters and older machine batches

Breville’s US BWF100NA pack contains six resin water filters. Its description gives the following limits for three older machine families. These are US listing conditions; do not transfer them to a UK Sage machine.

Batch limits stated on the US BWF100NA resin-filter listing
Machine codeListed batch range
Oracle Touch BES9901746 and earlier
Oracle BES9801813 and earlier
Dual Boiler BES9201800 and earlier

UK Sage: ClaroSwiss cartridge and batch boundaries

Sage’s UK SES008WHT0NEU1 ClaroSwiss listing gives different boundaries. Use its detailed machine list and batch disclaimer when selecting a filter; the broader compatibility wording lower on the page does not remove these conditions.

Selected batch-qualified entries on the UK ClaroSwiss listing

Does a ClaroSwiss multipack fit an older Dual Boiler?

The US ClaroSwiss four-pack is BCC010WHT0ZNA1. Its page includes BES920 among the machine cards but does not show a batch boundary in that list. That alone does not establish compatibility with every BES920: the separate US resin-filter page explicitly covers batches 1800 and earlier.

If the existing cartridge and regional listing do not resolve the choice, give Breville or Sage the full machine and batch codes before buying. Do not infer a replacement for an older batch just because a newer filter appears under the same family name.

Filter replacement and descaling are separate jobs

The US ClaroSwiss four-pack page recommends replacement every 90 days. Use the instructions supplied with the selected cartridge and the machine for preparation and installation; do not transfer one filter’s soaking or rinsing procedure to another type.

Replacing a water filter does not perform the machine’s descaling programme. For a descale or cleaning prompt, use the maintenance guide for that machine and distinguish scale removal from coffee-oil cleaning.

Identify the right product

Match the regional cartridge listing and machine batch before ordering. This guide does not yet offer a verified Amazon cartridge listing; the linked SP0022472 holder is a separate component, not a replacement filter.
