Choose the product named by the maintenance programme.
Espresso cleaning targets coffee residue, descaling targets mineral deposits in the water system, and milk-system cleaner belongs to the milk circuit. A general “coffee machine cleaner” listing can hide this distinction.
Three names to separate on a shopping page
JURA lists 3-phase cleaning tablets, 2-phase descaling tablets and milk-system mini tabs as separate care products for the E8 ED. “Tablet” describes a product form, not a universal use. Read the complete name before putting a product into the machine.
Breville likewise distinguishes its coffee-path cleaning cycle from descaling. The required accessory, such as a cleaning disc, is a separate item from the cleaning chemical. Follow the instructions for both.
Do not transfer a procedure between circuits
A milk rinse and a milk cleaning programme are separate actions. The E8 ED instructions explain both. Finishing a rinse does not turn a descaler or a coffee-cleaning tablet into a milk cleaner.
Keep the product packaging beside you while preparing the correct programme. Match its dose and handling instructions to the manual rather than using an internet recipe for another model.
If you already bought the wrong item
Leave it sealed while checking the reference and return terms. Do not try a substitute in another compartment to use it up. If a chemical has already entered the wrong circuit, stop preparation and ask the manufacturer for recovery instructions with the exact product name and quantity.
